Thu 16th Mar 2023

Exciting news for residents in Over and its surrounding areas in South Gloucestershire, as they can now enjoy lightning-fast internet speeds of up to 1000Mbps thanks to Runfibre's full fibre infrastructure.

The project, which was made possible through the gigabit rural voucher scheme, has connected 119 rural properties in the village of Over and its surroundings to Runfibre's state-of-the-art network. This investment in broadband infrastructure will undoubtedly have a positive impact on the quality of life for those living in these areas, enabling them to access faster and more reliable internet connections.

The Gigabit Rural Voucher scheme was a key factor in making this project viable, providing essential funding to support the installation of Runfibre's fibre infrastructure. This scheme has helped to address the digital divide by providing financial support to help improve internet connectivity in rural areas.

Residents and Businesses in Over and its surrounding areas can now look forward to faster download and upload speeds, smoother streaming, and improved connectivity for online activities such as video conferencing, online learning, and remote working.

This investment in full fibre infrastructure is a significant step towards achieving the government's goal of ensuring that every home and business in the UK has access to gigabit-capable broadband by 2025. Runfibre's project in Over is a prime example of how private sector investment, combined with government support, can help to bridge the digital divide and bring faster internet speeds to rural communities.
