Introduction

When it comes to using the internet, you may think that all of your online services are dependent on your internet service provider (ISP). However, this is not necessarily the case. In this article, we'll explain how TV streaming, email, and other internet services work and why they are not entirely dependent on your ISP.

TV Streaming

TV streaming services, such as Netflix and Amazon Prime, work by sending video content over the internet to your device. While you need an internet connection to access these services, the video content is not dependent on your ISP. Instead, it is delivered through content delivery networks (CDNs) that are operated by the streaming service itself. CDNs are a network of servers that are spread out across the world, which helps to ensure that your video streams smoothly and without interruption.

Email Services

Email services, such as Gmail, BT and Yahoo Mail, work by sending email messages over the internet to their destination. Like TV streaming services, email messages are not dependent on your ISP. Instead, they are sent through email servers that are operated by the email service provider. When you send an email, it is sent to the email provider's server, which then routes it to the recipient's email provider.

Conclusion

In conclusion, while you need an internet connection to access TV streaming, email, and other internet services, they are not entirely dependent on your ISP. Instead, they are delivered through content delivery networks and servers that are operated by the service provider. This means that if you experience issues with your ISP, you may still be able to access these services through other means, such as using a different device like a mobile phone or connecting to a different network.
